Referred to below as "we," "us," "our," or "the Company." You are referred to as "you" or "the Client."

1. Scope of services

Start My Business Inc. provides administrative document preparation, trust administration, and web design services, together with 508 Ministry, our ministry management software product. Services are offered to the general public on ordinary commercial terms.

2. Professional limitations

We are not a law firm, an accounting firm, or a licensed fiduciary. We do not provide legal advice, tax advice, or licensed professional services of any kind. Preparing documents to your instructions is not legal representation.

Legal instruments are reviewed and executed by independently engaged licensed attorneys. Any attorney-client relationship exists between you and that attorney directly.

3. What Section 508(c)(1)(A) actually does

What it doesWhat it does not do
Excepts qualifying churches from the Form 1023 application requirementIt does not by itself confer tax-exempt status
Lets a qualifying church begin operating without waiting on an IRS determination letterIt does not remove the requirement to satisfy Section 501(c)(3) on the organization's own facts
Churches are excepted from the annual Form 990 filing requirementA religious organization that is not a church does file Form 990, and must file Form 1023 within 27 months of formation to be recognized back to formation

Whether an organization is a church for these purposes turns on its actual facts and activities, not on what its documents recite. We assess this before drafting begins.

4. Donor deductibility

Contributions may be deductible under Section 170. Without an IRS determination letter, a donor claiming a deduction bears the burden of establishing the organization's status if the return is examined. Many individual donors accept this. Most institutional grantors, foundations, and payment processors do not. Where grant funding matters to your plan, a voluntary Form 1023 is available and is frequently worth the cost.

5. No outcome guaranteed

No guarantee of any specific legal, tax, financial, or organizational outcome is made or implied. We do not publish savings estimates, projected tax outcomes, or comparison tables, because those depend entirely on facts we do not control.

6. Engagements we decline

We decline engagements where the stated purpose is to avoid tax on income the client will continue to receive personally, where immunity from state or federal jurisdiction is the objective, where no substantive religious activity is planned, or where the contracting party cannot be identified and verified. Where we decline, amounts paid are refunded in full.
